Ein Lächeln

There was a time
when the city went quiet.
Empty streets, shuttered windows,
the world on pause.
We moved through it,
a small crew, cameras rolling,
capturing beauty in stillness—
light on cobblestones,
the hush of an empty square.

Then masks appeared,
and the streets began to stir.
Shops opened, slowly, carefully,
people returned not just to buy,
but to rebuild.

We learned to smile with our eyes,
to find connection in the quiet.
And as Salzburg came alive again,
it carried that stillness in its heart.
